How We Deal Reveals Our Faith


My pastor once said something like this: How we deal with our problems shows what we think of God.

True?

First of all, who or what is your God?
Who or what do you put your faith in, in times of trouble?
When you have a problem, what do you do?

The answers to these questions reveal your faith.

As emotional human beings we are conditional. God is unconditional. 
He loves because He is God. God is Love. His Love doesn't change.

His Love isn't based on our behavior or performance.

There's nothing you can do for God to love you any more.
There's nothing you can do for God to love you any less.

He Loves You more than you can imagine.

We can't fully comprehend God or His Character.

It's okay; He gave us His word- The Bible, and His Holy Spirit to help us understand.

It is enough. He is All Knowing.

He wants us to Trust in Him.

If we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, then He lives in us, and we can be Spirit led.
(Col. 1:27"...Christ in you, the hope of Glory.")

God doesn't change. God is Perfect. He is All we need and can Hope for.

Some of His Characteristics are:
Love
Creator
Absolute Righteousness
Sovereign (Most Supreme, Ultimate Authority)
Just
All Powerful
All Knowing
The Beginning and the End
Omnipresent
Immutable (never changing)
Faithful
Truth
All of these Characteristics are present all the time. God isn't Just one minute and Loving the next. He is Always Just and Loving. All Simultaneously present.

Back to the statement: How we deal with our problems shows what we think of God.

Proverbs 24:10 "If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength."

Proverbs 24:5 "A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength."

How do we get stronger?

By Gaining Knowledge

Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,...."

God is Love.
Ephesians 3:19 "and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
God in you, the Hope of Glory

  1. What makes us strong is sort of an oxymoron isn't it? In light of Jesus and our spiritual belief; "...for when I am weak; then I am strong" 2cor:12 because His strength is made perfect in my weakness. I have to surrender that which I cannot control (or sometimes want to control) to Him in order to become strong. Really interesting huh?
    to "boast in our infirmities..." so challenging. I enjoy reading your writing. I'll be posting a poem real soon based on the book or my reading of Jeremiah. take care....hugs Theresa
